Women Rights (Position of Women) in Islam

Women Rights (Position of Women) in Islam

Islam is a religion that honors the men and women, they were all given good provision, and glorify them all from all creatures of god. As his word "and indeed we have honoured the Children of Adam, and we have carried them on land and sea, and have provided them with At-Taiyibât (Lawful good things), and have preferred them above many of those whom we have created with a marked preference". (Surat al-Isra ', verse 70)

Women are male siblings, Islam concerns about women, moving them from meanness and stupidity to the glory of knowledge and self-esteem.

God and His prophet has specified the rights and obligations of women in Islam and the proper manners for them. Islam puts women in a glorious place that does not exist in other religions. These are small part of the rights (status) of women in Islam :
    • Men and women are equal in all respects humanity as Allah says "O mankind! be dutiful to Your Lord, who created You from a single person (Adam), and from Him (Adam) He created his wife [Hawwa (Eve)], and from them both He created many men and women and fear Allâh through whom You demand Your mutual (rights), and (Do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship) . surely, Allâh is ever an AllWatcher over you". (Sura An-Nisa ', verse 1)
    • Women together with men in terms of worship and mu'amalah, anyone who obey Allah and His Messenger, then he will enter heaven and those who are disobedient to Allah and the apostles then he will go into hell. As Allah says “whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while He (or she) is a true believer (of Islâmic Monotheism) Verily, to Him we will give a good life (in This world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and we shall pay them certainly a reward In proportion to the best of what they used to do (i.e. Paradise In the Hereafter)”. (Sura An-Nahl, verse 97)
    • People who believe, men and women who are in heaven in a same row. Allah says “and whoever does righteous good deeds, male or female, and is a true believer In the Oneness of Allâh (Muslim), such will enter Paradise and not the least injustice, even to the size of a Naqîra (speck on the back of a datestone), will be done to them”. (Sura An-Nisaa ', verse 124)
    • Islam gives women freedom to own property as men. Allah says "and wish not for the Things In the which Allah has made Some of You to excel others. for men there is reward for what They have earned, (and Likewise) for women there is reward for what They have earned, and ask Allah of his Bounty. surely, Allah is ever AllKnower of everything ". (Sura An-Nisaa’, verse 32)
    • Islam likes men and women who study (look for knowledge), Allah says "is one Who is obedient to Allah, prostrating Himself or standing (in prayer) During the hours of the night, fearing the Hereafter and hoping for the Mercy of his Lord (like one who disbelieves)? say: "Are those who know equal to those who know note?" it is Only men of understanding Who Will Remember (ie get a lesson from Allâh's Signs and Verses)". (Sura Az-Zumar, verse 9)
    • Islam requires to glorify both parents, both mother and father, especially when both are old. Allah says, "and Your Lord has decreed That You Worship none but Him. and be dutiful to You That Your Parents. if one of Them or both attain old age of Them In Your Life, Say not to Them a word of disrespect, nor shout at the address but Them Them In terms of honor". (Sura Al-Israa ', verse 23)
    • Islam emphasizes attention to mother is greater than father, because of the weakness of mother, needs, and rights of mother because it’s mother who is pregnant, childbirth, breastfeeding, and educate. As said by the prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, when he was asked by one of his best friend, "who is the most entitled I treat well?", He replied "your mother", then who?, He replied "your mother", then he asked again, then who?, He replied "your father". (Mutafaq 'alaih, narrated by Al-Bukhari)
    • Islam glorifies women and held up their position and make them to be the quiet place for men. God says, "and Among his Signs is this, that He created for You Wives from Among yourselves, that You May find repose In Them, and He has put affection Between You and Mercy. Verily, In That indeed are Signs for a people who Reflect". (Sura Ar-Rum, verse 21)
    • Islam guards woman's honor and be alert to not do bad to her (them), Allah says, "The adulterer marries not but an adulteress or a Mushrikah and the adulteress none marries her except an adulterer or a Muskrik [and That means That The Man Who agrees to Marry (have a sexual relation with) a Mushrikah (female polytheists, pagans or idolatress) or a prostitute, Then surely He is Either an adulterer, or a Mushrik (polytheists, pagan or idolater, etc..) and the woman who agrees to Marry (have a sexual relation with) a Mushrik (polytheists, pagan or idolater) or an adulterer, Then Either she is a prostitute or a Mushrikah (female polytheists, pagans, or idolatress, etc.)]. Such a thing is forbidden to the Believers (of Islamic Monotheism). and those who accuse chaste women, and four notes Produce Witnesses, flog Them with eighty stripes, and reject Their testimony forever, They are indeed the Fâsiqûn (Liars, Rebellious, disobedient to Allâh). except those who repent thereafter and do Righteous Deeds, (for Such) Verily, Allâh is OFT-Forgiving, Most Merciful". (Sura An-Nur, verse 3-5)
    • God ordered women to wear headscarves (Hijaab) which will maintain their honor and protect from the actions of mayhem and destruction, Allah says "O Prophet! tell Your Wives and Your Daughters and the women of the Believers to draw Their cloaks (veils) All Over Their bodies (iescreen themselves completely except the eyes or one eye to see the way). That will of be better, that They Should Be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. and Allah is ever OftForgiving, Most Merciful". (Sura al-Ahzab, verse 59)
    • Headscarf (Hijab) worn by women should cover up something that could cause a scandal, God says "and as for women past child-bearing who do not Expect wed-lock, it is no sin on Them if They discard Their (outer) clothing In Such a Way as not to show Their adornment. but to refrain (ie not to discard Their outer clothing) is better for Them. and Allah is All-Hearer, All-knower". (Sura An-Nuur, verse 60)
    • Islam glorifies women and gives them the right to an inheritance. Allah says "there is a share for men and a share for women from what is left by the Parents and those nearest related, whether, the property be small or large - a legal share". (Sura An-Nisaa', verse 7)
    • Islam keep women from all things that embarrass them, and stain their honor, the forbidden fornication and everything that opens the opportunity to commit adultery, Allah says "The adulterer marries not but an adulteress or a Mushrikah and the adulteress none marries her except an adulterer or a Muskrik [and That means That The Man Who agrees to Marry (have a sexual relation with) a Mushrikah (female polytheists, pagans or idolatress) or a prostitute, Then surely He is Either an adulterer, or a Mushrik (polytheists, pagan or idolater, etc.) and the woman who agrees to Marry (have a sexual relation with) a Mushrik (polytheists, pagan or idolater) or an adulterer, Then Either she is a prostitute or a Mushrikah (female polytheists, pagans, or idolatress, etc.)]. Such a thing is forbidden to the Believers (of Islamic Monotheism)". (Sura an-nur, verse 3)
    • Islam allows polygamy with the aim to reproduce the offspring of Muslim people, besides, actually the number of women more than men, then it’s better for women to marry than not married (no husband).
    • Islam requires men to give dowry (Mahr) to the woman (wife) as her right, and his wife were allowed to give it to anyone who wished. Allah says "and give to the women (whom You Marry) Their mahr (obligatory bridal money given by the husband to his wife at the time of marriage) with a good heart, but if They, of Their own good pleasure, remit any part of it to you, take it, and enjoy it without fear of any harm (as Allah has made it lawful)". (Sura An-Nisaa’, verse 4)
    • Islam is a religion of love and full of politeness, Islam bequeaths to husband to treat his wife with a fine and be patient against an unwelcome from the wife, Allah says “O You believe! You are forbidden to inherit women against Their will, and You Should not treat Them with harshness, that You May take away part of the mahr You have given Them, unless They commit open illegal sexual intercourse. Live with Them and honourably. if You Dislike Them, May it be That You Dislike a thing and Allah Brings through it a great deal of good ". (Sura An-Nisaa’, verse 19)
